Top 10 Tools Every Car Owner Must Carry

No one can guarantee when an emergency occurs on somebody. It does not matter whether you work on your vehicle in the garage or are a professional. It doesn't even matter whether you are getting a car for the first time or are driving a car for a long time. Safety calls first for everyone.

Hence specific emergency tools for cars that can be life-saviours during stressful situations should be present in everyone’s car. The tools you carry matter on the performance in auto-servicing and maintenance. If you do not have a proper automobile workshop tools list in your garage, there will be some problems.

This is again the reason why having an adequately decorated garage with a handful of items to keep for emergencies becomes essential. In today's article, an attempt has been made to educate readers on some of the most needed Roadside emergency car kit tools and equipment every car owner should garner.

10 Tools Every Car Owner Must Carry: Basic Car Maintenance Tools

Here are some basic tools for car maintenance. The following are few must-have tools that every car owner must carry:

  1. Pliers:

A set of pliers is one of the essential car tool kit items to have in a car tool kit set. Pliers are used for a variety of jobs, like loosening tight bolts to strip wires. Buying a complete set of pliers kits can be a great deal. However, if a set price exceeds your budget, there is no harm in even going for a standard pair. A set of pairs or the complete kit, whatever you make sure it is about quality. Cheap pliers do no good and break easily while performing strenuous tasks.

  1. Wrench sets:

Wrenches are one of the essential entry-level mechanic tools that every automobile mechanic should have. Almost every automobile repair job needs a wrench. Hence, it is the Best tool kit to keep in a car or at least in the garage. It's always good to have a wrench set that is metric and standard-sized. Excellent quality wrenches are made of chrome-vanadium alloy, which can come costly but serves for a long time.

  1. Ratchet and socket set:

Ratchet and socket set is a top product and must have car tools. It helps in working with bolts in tight places as well as awkward angles. A ratchet is probably the best car tool, as it appears in every place, whether in automotive shops or garages.  Ratchets come in three different sizes. Like every other tool, it is beneficial to have them in all sizes.

  1. Screw Drivers:

Screw Driver is another important car maintenance tool. This tool helps in handling the screws in the right place. Since Phillips and flat are the two main types of tools, one should have both of them.  Some people also love to keep magnetised screwdrivers, as it is easy to work with. Magnetised screwdrivers keep the screw secured while you are working, even in awkward positions.

  1. Hammer:

Getting a hammer in-car emergency travel tool is not something one should be ignorant about. Although it might not seem necessary, hammers are still helpful to keep. Sometimes grease and dirt just jam some components. As a result, working on them requires extra effort to come off. In such cases, nothing but a hammer can save you. The best is to use mallet hammers and take them out. Use the Basic car tool kit list for those types of components that might just break because they are weak.

  1. Car Jacks:

Many car jobs need car lifting help. Sometimes when one needs to work on tires, brakes, gas tanks, and other parts of the car below, it is required. In such cases, car jacks come the handiest and serve as must-have automotive tools. These help in doing the heavy lifting job with ease. Again, like every other component, there are different car jacks, fit for variant purposes.

  1. Jack Stands:

Jacks’ stands are again used to lift cars, but when it comes to keeping the vehicle lifted, jack stands are the tools you should depend on. After lifting the car, the stands are placed under the car and adjusted correctly to hold it.  Jack stands consist of important car tools, and it is good to have 3-4 of them in small professional garages.

  1. Ramps

Ramps fall under the category of great car organisers when used correctly. Apart from being useful in tool kit set for cars, they provide excellent stability. Ramps are a replacement for jack and jack stands if you want more stability. To lift the car, simply drive the car and climb on the ramp. Again, ramps are heavily relied on when it comes to oil changing and analysing the below car parts for maintenance.

  1. Creeper:

Though this might not fall under essential car emergency multi-tool, there is no harm in keeping them. While working under the car, people use cardboard to keep the back safe. Movement becomes challenging, and this is where a creeper comes into the picture. Creepers are more of comfort tools than other emergency items to keep in the car. However, if you need to fix anything immediately under the car and do not have a creeper to help, it can become an emergency.

  1. Nut Bolters

In case there is an emergency, you can always issue the help of a nut bolter. It works to straighten all the loose screws and helps you to get the work done. It is an emergency tool that is for multipurpose functions. On the other hand, it even allows you to take out tight settings from loose handles.
